TERESA CHERNY
Born in Mexico City, Mexico, Teresa Cherny currently resides and works in both San Diego and Mexico City. Teresa has dedicated her life to sculpting, having acquired extensive education and training.Ms. Cherny has studied many different art forms in the pursuit of perfecting her sculpting skills, including painting in oil, watercolor and acrylic as well as drawing of figures and models.
Teresa received her schooling at the Universidad Motolinia and Universidad Feminina in Mexico City where she obtained a Graduate degree in Interior Design and Decoration. Additional courses in European Art History at the French Alliance with Luis Panabiere and Chinese and Hindu Art History with Edith Desaleux have enhanced Cherny’s cultural background.
Teresa has had the opportunity to work extensively with other sculptors who have influenced her work. Working with sculptor Don Jose Bardasano precluded the realization that Bronze was the best way of expressing her personal artistic inclinations. Carma Anderson of Houston, TX as well as Abel Ramirez, Enrique Jolly and Mario Zamora of Mexico City have all had a part in influencing Teresa’s direction.
